Magical winter, white as far as the horizon
Discover your winter holiday paradise at Monte Croce in the Dolomites, where you can enjoy skiing, snowshoeing, ski-mountaineering, sledging and cross-country skiing. The unique position of our hotel, at a height of 1,636 metres, is a firm guarantee of snow from the end of November to the beginning of April. Prepare to be enchanted by the winter wonderland of Monte Croce: wide expanses of sparkling snow, crystal-clear mountain air, and snow-covered peaks and forests. You can have a wonderful skiing holiday at Sesto, with the ski-lift right by the door and the hotel’s own ski school. There are also lots of hiking trails up to picturesque Alpine huts and refuges, starting just outside the Passo Monte Croce Hotel.
Snowshoeing & winter hiking
Every step is like walking on a lovely soft cloud, while up above is the brilliant blue sky. This special type of winter mantra calms your spirit and liberates your thoughts. Together with Mrs Helga, hotel owner and hiking guide, you can experience the full splendours of the winter landscape. The use of equipment is free for these guided excursions. This is an adventure to make your winter holiday in the Dolomites truly unforgettable. As a real highlight, we recommend the climb up to the Locatelli refuge, below the Three Peaks.
Ski-mountaineering:
For those who have already explored the wonderful world of ski-mountaineering; the lovely snow-covered mountains of Alta Pusteria are amongst the finest slopes to climb. All you leave behind is a solitary path through the snow, silent witness to a great adventure.
Cross-country skiing:
Alta Pusteria is famous for its long cross-country trails, extending for over 200 km. The Monte Croce has a circuit close to the hotel (3.5 km) and a circuit at altitude (15 km).
Sledging:
Enjoy high-speed fun from the Nemes Alps to Monte Croce, plus the famous 6-km toboggan run on the slopes of Croda Rossa. Sledge hire on site. When you return from your outing, come and relax in our Spa and Wellbeing Centre –you’ll feel wonderful!
